About Veronica West

Her work focuses on helping people develop a clearer understanding of their experiences and supporting meaningful, sustainable change.

A short introduction

In this short video, Veronica introduces herself and the kind of work she does, so you can get a sense of how she works before deciding whether to get in touch. It’s a more personal way to say hello than words on a page.

In her practice, Veronica works with adults navigating a wide range of difficulties. This is just a small snapshot of the areas she works with most often:

  • Anxiety, stress, and burnout
  • Relationship difficulties and significant life changes
  • Trauma, including EMDR therapy
  • Neurodivergence in adults, including ADHD and autism, particularly where a diagnosis has come later in life

Many of the people Veronica sees want to make better sense of what they’re going through and find a way forward that feels manageable. If that sounds like what you’re after, you’re welcome to get in touch and see whether she’s the right fit.

Professional Background

Alongside her clinical work, Veronica holds a Clinical Lead role within a multidisciplinary telehealth service, supporting the development of safe, effective, and well-governed care.

Much of her career has involved working within multidisciplinary teams, including supporting provisional psychologists and early career clinicians as they transition into independent practice.

This has shaped a strong focus on clinical reasoning, ethical practice, and sustainable ways of working.

Alongside her clinical work, Veronica has contributed to published research, media, and speaking. You can read more on the Publications, Media and Research page.

Clinical Approach

Veronica takes a collaborative and thoughtful approach to therapy, adapting to each person’s needs and goals.

Her work is informed by a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and EMDR.

Where helpful, sessions may incorporate structured approaches, while also allowing space to explore patterns, experiences, and what feels most relevant.

Who She Works With

Veronica works with adults and adolescents experiencing a range of concerns, including anxiety, trauma, stress, and major life transitions. She also supports people navigating more complex or longstanding difficulties, with a focus on developing a clearer understanding of patterns and identifying practical ways forward.

In supervision, she works with provisional psychologists, registrars, and fully registered psychologists, as well as other allied health professionals. Her supervision focuses on strengthening clinical reasoning, building confidence in decision-making, and supporting the development of a thoughtful and sustainable approach to practice.
